Scholarships
The Chatham Chorale is proud to support the next generation of musicians by awarding scholarships each year to talented Cape and Islands high school students. Awards go to graduating seniors who have demonstrated musical and academic excellence, and who have been accepted to an accredited college for music performance, music education or musical theater. Since 1989 we have provided over $80,000 in scholarships to talented local students.
For further information about the Chatham Chorale’s scholarships, please contact your school’s Guidance Office.
Scholarship winners are recognized at the Chatham Chorale’s spring concert each year.

Trinh O’Doherty
Sturgis Charter Public School

She will be attending the University of Hartford’s Hartt School of music pursuing a fine arts degree in musical theater. As a matter of fact, Trinh is not with us today because she is at her college orientation. Trinh is known in the theater world as a triple threat. This is someone who excels at acting, singing and dancing. She has studied the Stanislavski and Meisner methods of acting, takes private voice lessons with Gabrielle Carruba and teaches dance at the Harper Dance center. She has performed in Songs for a New World and Little Shop of Horrors at Sturgis and Legally Blonde at the College Light Company. She has attended numerous summer conservatory programs, is a member of the Sturgis a Cappella group, the Sturgis Singers and is a vocal soloist with the jazz band.
William Lodge
Sandwich Middle High School
William will be attending UMass Amherst pursuing a degree in music education. A gifted tenor, William’s journey is quite a bit different than our other two winners. He came into music in his Sophomore year of High School after years playing soccer and baseball. He was coerced by a friend to join Sandwich Soul, the High School show choir, and he never looked back. He is a voice student at the Lasit performance studio and a teacher’s assistant to the 8th grade chorus and the unified Music Theater class. William sings in the advanced mixed choir and performed in the Knight’s Theater Co. casts of Les Miserables, Rent and Hadestown and has participated in multiple Broadway workshops. He also performed in the Massachusetts All-State Choir and is the first student board member of The Sandwich Arts Alliance.
